Inflammation and hyperpigmentation of melanin-rich skin
In pigmented skin, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation is particularly frequent. Hyperpigmentation of the skin results from an inflammatory reaction, hormonal imbalance and/or prolonged sun exposure. When IL-8 is elevated in affected areas, this indicates that inflammation is at the root of the hyperpigmentation. Thus, reducing the presence of IL-8, and therefore inflammation, helps to attenuate the hyperpigmentation phenomenon.

IL-8 measurement corresponds to an objective clinical study. It enables the anti-inflammatory action of a cosmetic product to be scientifically quantified. The higher the IL-8 measurement, the stronger the inflammatory reaction in the skin.

One thing I've noticed is that a little goes a long way. I initially thought I'd need to use more product, but a small amount is sufficient to cover my entire face. This makes the serum quite economical.
